Hello to all,
When I groggily entered the kitchen on Monday morning, Tammy had the water in the kettle and two mugs prepared for the morning tea. Her first grumble told me all was not well with her. Then, in a low course tone, “Thanks for going to the hospital and scaring me.”
Me, shaking the sleepy cobwebs out of my head, “???”
“I dreamt you were in the hospital, and it scared me.”
A smile of understanding broke over my face. Several times during the day, it was my fault I was in the hospital, and she was scared in her bad dream. Our daughter rose from her slumber and heard her mother’s dream; it was my fault.
Throughout our thirty years of marriage, I have yelled at her, broken things, cheated on her, and outright ignored her in her bad dreams. These imaginings only occur every five years, but they are always my fault as if I telepathically placed them in her head while she slept. Each time she wakes disturbed by these erroneous dreams, I hear about them for a day or two.
Why is it that when a woman dreams, her husband does something terrible in her dreams, and he must pay for it all the next day? For most of my married life, I thought it was just my wife until I found YouTube. YT has many instances of women complaining about the man performing horrific actions in their dreams and remaining mad at him the whole of the next day.
I cannot help but think it is a rite of passage for a husband to be blamed for what happens in her bad dream. Every day, husbands worldwide feel sorry for what they do in their wives' dreams. A man is not sincerely married until he apologizes for something he did in her bad dream.
