Friday 02/19/2021: Forgiveness

Hello everyone,

I was wondering what to write about this week and drawing a blank. So my wife and I went grocery shopping. I bought my in-law’s groceries and she bought ours. Surprisingly, we were at the store for just a half hour.

We were returning home, just two blocks from the store, when an old pickup truck crossed the double yellow line into my lane to get to his turning lane. I had to slam on the brakes to keep us out of a head on collision. We were traveling 25 mph, but still that would have been a rather bad ending to a nice shopping spree. The other driver kept on like nothing was wrong.

This self-serving act by the other driver upset and angered me. I gave him the one finger salute and called him an anal sphincter. The sudden stop caused our milk to fly forward and crush the top but not breaking the jug. My wife yelled at me for my gesture and the descriptive use of a bodily part. She was quick to point out my self-serving act of retaliation.

Thinking back on it, it was a release of excitement in a stressful situation, but it didn’t show forgiveness for my fellow person in this world. It felt good in the moment, but now I realize my anger drove me to sin against another person. I should have shown forgiveness of the Lord in the moment, but I chose to return hate for hate.

Only by recognizing my faults am I able to grow in the Lord and become the man he wants me to be.

If you have read any of my books, please leave a review on Goodreads and Amazon. The Fighting son has been out for three weeks and The Genuine Daughter is 99 cents until Sunday morning at 11:00 EST.

God bless,

Danny Mac
